Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on 22nd March 1976 is an American actress. Witherspoon has received numerous awards which include an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, she has always been a top performer among the top actresses paid in the world. Time magazine and Forbes both named her among the 100 most influential people on the world in both 2005 and in 2006, respectively. Forbes listed her as the world's highest-earning actress in 2021. Witherspoon is estimated to have a income of $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, the actress made her name with her character of the supporting actor in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for her portrayal of Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. She gained wider recognition for the role of Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003 and for starring in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). In 2005 she won critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a slump in her career in which her only box office hit was the romantic comedy Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback with the production and role of Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014), which brought her a second nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. She has since primarily worked in television, producing and starring in various female-led literary adaptations under the banner of her company Hello Sunshine. They include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) and The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present) as well as the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). For the first of these she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series. She directed the film adaptations of Gone Girl (2014) as in Where the Crawdads Sing (1922). Witherspoon also owns Draper James clothing company and is active in advocacy groups for children and women. She is on the Children's Defense Fund's Board and was honored to serve as the chairperson of the Avon Foundation's charitable foundation for women's issues in 2007.
